SUFFERING FROM GROWING PAINS
Nordic Semiconductor’s success has resulted in enormous growth in the past 10 years. Since 2010, the number of employees has risen by more than 1000%. From a staff of 137 to +1500. The growing pains were clear and obvious. Despite the digital presence being solid it also had its inadequacies.
UNIQUE EXPERTISE OPENED A POSSIBILITY
Alpha Solutions’ journey together with Nordic Semiconductor started with small steps. First, assistance was needed to handle the CCPA guidelines and Alpha Solutions are one of only a few with the required expertise in the Norwegian market. A small task was hereafter the beginning of a bigger collaboration.
David Stone, Marketing Vice President at Nordic Semiconductor, summarizes:

It lays the foundation for more strategic management and secures future investments.

THOROUGH ANALYSIS
Together with Alpha Solutions, the customer journey was analyzed, the market channels evaluated, and a thorough competitor analysis plus benchmarking against the 10 biggest online competitors was carried out. Moreover, user tests and qualitative interviews were performed with key stakeholders, and clients and users across the world. Finally, an analysis of the IT architecture was made to understand how the systems were integrated in order to know how to build the best possible solutions for the future.
COMPOSABLE ARCHITECTURE
The GAP analysis discovered that the challenges mainly was tied to the architecture and the data flow, and not because of specific platforms or systems. Based on recommendations from Alpha Solutions, Nordic Semiconductor chose to update its IT architecture and become composable, making the solution future-proof.
The outcome of the update is that it will become much easier to replace single components in the tech stack, if needs and trends change over time. Soon a new webshop and DAM platform will also be deployed.

Ahead of them are several big projects in the form of a unified search function, design layout, and navigation across multiple websites. Many years of projects are already on the road map to optimize the digital touchpoints.
